Its tuesday and i think we need something to herald in the sunshine that a lot of us on the sunnier side of the country are seeing recently. Audio1 and i feel this song was one of the heralds of the golden age of hip hop ( circa 1993). suddenly there was a surge of new lyricism and flow out there and whenever it was discussed what was already classic in the same year, or what songs were booming and shocking and wrecking (even to say what was fresh, or what was dope)... it was hard not to bring up this one. there wont even be a second video today because this song is so important.

in my opinion, the names; Mr. Funke, DoItAll Dupré, and DJ Lord Jazz should never be forgotten. thankfully, the last time i heard DoItAll Dupré was on the Nas remix of "where are they now" also i heard he was on the sopranos, which, i dunno. there was a lot of good music in the golden age of hip hop, i urge the youngsters to not only go out and find it, but try and understand it. try and simulate it and even try to innovate it.

...And now id like to return to the classics, perhaps the greatest classic in all the world of music.

Lords of the Underground - Chief Rocka

its also important to note, that while many videos look like this and many emcees dressed like this. there werent many doing that before these guys.

I walk with the funk. I talk with the funk. I eat with the funk. I sleep with the funk. I live for the funk. I'll die for the funk. - Mr. Funke (1993)

absolutely.

Side Note:
On a side note, all of these wonderful videos were making it so some people at work couldnt view my site. so i fixed that isht right away. turns out network people are firewalling youtube (but not myspace?!).. so i found a way to counter that. most firewalls go for the name server address and not the IP. please let me know if you still cant get here or you know someone who cant.
