H2O - Hip Hop is dead?

So, im reading up on my hip hop news, and i found out that J-Zone is working with Lonely Island. and of course the first thing you say, much like me is, "Who the #$^% is lonely island? so i did a little research. they do those horrible songs on SNL that usually suck, but occasionally are so funny you die.

the article also mentions one of their more popular songs as being "I'm on a boat" featuring T-Pain and of course, i was like. whatever, but looked it up on youtube anyway.

this is one of those, almost died things.
