I dont know really where to start with talking about Nas and the fact that im excited again about his upcoming album. Nas was going to use the most sensitive word in America to name his album. the critics, censors, and finally the industry told him no. so he decided not to name the album, and wrote his single about it...

“It’s important to me that this album gets to the fans,” said Nas. “It’s been a long time coming. I want my fans to know that creatively and lyrically, they can expect the same content and the same messages. It’s that important. The streets have been waiting for this for a long time. The people will always know what the real title of this album is and what to call it.”

-Nas on why he changed the name of his now unititled album,
due on July 1st.

It's always good to have something that you are passionate about.

its the same thing everyone cares about whether they know it or not. its about music and freedom of expression. Nas has always been a very poetic artist, but always an artist. and them making him change the name of his album is like the government trying to force Michaelangelo to put pants on David or a sports bra on Venus De Milo. its just a statue, but in the end thats all it is, just a statue. they're trying to make this poetic statement of an album just an album.

What a great song. 1) It's obvious he felt strongly about WHY he wanted to name it what he did (and it's a shame he was censored) 2) I get why KRS said that he was initially nervous, but trusted Nas implicitly with his choice. I'm glad he chose not to give the album a new title. Now everyone will remember what it was supposed to be called.
