like many many many people in the world i do not have 20/20 vision and so i have to wear corrective lenses for seeing things in detail. i havent had a working pair of glasses since 2002 when i lost my good ones before leaving for Kansas city. i keep a very awful looking pair around though from 1994 that dont really work anymore for emergencies. Jamie has said specifically that she wont be seen with me wearing those and she tried to run them over twice... and i think she shot at them with a gun. they also smell like cat pee.
this morning through a series of wild and expensive events i was able to finally acquire new spectacles for seeing things . since we're planning to go to disneyland next week for the thanksgiving holidays i thought it might be a good idea. also i got to flex my new medical coverage just a bit. and of course Jamie got to plan it. she likes planning things that make her happy. i had a co-pay and i had to dish out the fat loot to get these suckers on my head, but now i have them and i can see again. i drove to work after my appointment feeling rejuvenated. its amazing what being able to see things and read signs again does for your disposition.
well that feeling faded quickly, i walked into the office and no one said anything, they just looked at me crazy and then my boss said simply and plainly, "You look ridiculous" and then he started laughing. he since breaks into a red faced giggle every time he sees me.
im really at a loss, i chose the most normal looking, non-ridiculous, standard and easy pair of plain glasses in the world... you'd think i was wearing those thick black-rimmed emergency ones i keep in the car.

Jamie seems to like them... i dunno what to think. one of the neighbors said i look distinguished, which i take to mean "fat " or "old". im not sure which.
