Yea, i saw it. i saw it first day and payed full price no question. and to hear people hammering it for lax storytelling shocks and kills me. i wont discuss what i liked about it or how some of the more grim points were changed or taken out altogether. i will just say i thoroughly enjoyed it, it was fun and it seemed to move along nicely. a lot of the changes that were made, they did so tastefully like the original lord of the rings. what did they find lax? its the first of three. why did they rate it so low? probably the lack of rock and roll music and snooty, hipster dragons. i sense a great deal of bandwagonism and bull. someone is pulling strings and swinging ideas around. reviews are divided between hostile anger and absolute elation, but when i ask people what was the problem who have seen it, i get literal quotes from newspapers, when i asked those same people what they liked, they liked everything i did. im honestly tired of having the same conversation.

me: Hey, did you see Golden Compass?
Anyone: No, i heard it was $#!%
me: Thats funny, thats what i tell everyone about your mom in bed. *commences to pistol whipping Anyone*

and then from there it just gets ugly.

look, im going to say it plain. do not quote news paper articles at me, those people and their opinions dont hold any credibility with me. i usually trust my friends opinions more than the media. if you let movie reviews and food critics influence what you like, no one is going to find you to be intelligent or insightful. they're going to find you to be a simple minded bitch that cant formulate their own opinion.

the best ive heard so far, "i dunno, there was a lot of it i just didnt get." i couldn't argue with that, it was a very weird movie.
