I get a lot of music emails seeing as im part of the broke b-boys. what the broke b-boys do is review hip hop and promote the good stuff to the true lovers of that real deal hip hop. now Samuel Donado is a promotions guy over at public wizard, and ive seen the name in my mailbox, especially at times it was full. he had been doing what a lot of guys do, which is send me single tracks. this is a mistake. most likely, ill never hear them. i just don't have time.
I can use single tracks here on H2O but on broke b-boys, we promote albums. we do this exclusively for a couple of reasons. if we promote tracks, a broke b-boy will not bother with an album, they will download it at best. but since the music is underground, they wont find it. so they just will forget about it, they don't trust albums anymore. typically they will have a banger on it and then some other soft-type pillow-biter-rap left after that about the cold streets or killing people. when we review an album, we can tell them what to expect and give them a track that they wont see as a promotional single anywhere else. we worked for that trust and other guys want it.
Well Samuel has been sending me quality music for a long time now and i havent really had the time to listen to it or test it. he sent me an email recently and so i was encouraged to take a look. this is the kind of thing i found.
Hustle Summons - The Rundown (Feat Fel Sweetenberg & 84)
So i will now add Samuel to my list of people i trust. supposedly he's sending me some Immortal Technique stuff so i can put him up on Broke B-Boys. Ill be passing that over to Lily Kane to review also, she has a good ear for stuff too.
