I was in the store and i couldnt resist when i saw it. i wasnt alone there were three copies and four people. One man was a biologist, one was a science teacher at a high school, there was your classic computer game geek who was confused as to what it was and then there was me, vibrating with enthusiasm.
i bought spore and have been playing it. the disc itself comes in windows and mac, dual compatibility format and the graphics are very cuddly for the most part. there is an invariably dissatisfying feeling when your creature gets eaten or murdered... but that passes as you realize its part of the challenge of creating a better and more survivable creature.
Spore: Trailer E308
In the beginning, Timm wasnt really sure if he should invest money in the universe... but then did, and the first race, The Draconids, were born after evolving from the herbivorous Triguy, a three eye'd cellular organism. Very fun.
on a side note, Nintendo's DS version is about a creature from the planets you're on that was taken by UFO and studied in a series of levels and put against puzzles. this intrigues me, because as i was working on a friendship with some of the other creatures in the creature stage, we were interrupted by a flying saucer swinging down and kidnapping a couple of the singing pink leafy bunnies i was courting.
