After work yesterday i rushed to the store to get cat food as it was a red issue on my to do list which you cannot see as it is part of the back-end of my website. i saw the alluring lights of the video game store that i frequent in my local area and i hadnt been there in more than two months. i felt i was required to go in and inform my local game vendor that my options for game purchasing has both improved and expanded into new areas of next generation gaming. more than that though, i really wanted Assasins Creed, ive been dying to play it since the day i heard about it. i walked in and made the required chatter, anxious to get my hands on the chronicles of the adventures of Altair my soon to be new hero:

Store Owner: "Hey, Long time no see."
Me: "Yea, i know."
Store Owner: "What can i get for you?"
Me: "I wanna look at that assasins creed real quick."
Store Owner: "You like RPG's dont you?"
Me: "Yea, but im in the mood for something prince of persia-like."
Store Owner: "You want mass effect instead."
Me: "Huh?!"
Store Owner: [Jedi Mind Trick] "You dont need assasins creed."
Me: "You know, i dont need assasins creed."
Store Owner: [Jedi Mind Trick] "You want to own the game of the year before everyone beats it this time."
Me: "Alright, youre probably right... lemme get that Mass Effect."

and so it was that i own Mass Effect and even though im sure there was some foul play involved in the sale, i feel no remorse nor do i have any moments to regret my decision. Mass Effect held my attention and Jamie's attention long and well. we spent no less than 20 minutes on character creation and then she asked the golden question, "was there an option to make a female character?" oh indeed there was. you could choose gender, features, background, personality, and class.

for those of you who did Knights of the Old Republic. this is Knights of the Old Republic with a 3rd person shooter engine and upgrades in absolutely every area possible. every area. better camera, better quests, everything. i mean, if you liked something about knights of the old republic (that wasnt jedi), then its here. i myself, liked Jade Empire better than KOTOR and the fight system is better in Mass Effect than either of the two. the combat system in mass effect is 3rd person shooter with options for healing and other skills, including grenades and jamming. its very interesting to say the least, but not very well explained. you kind of have to stumble through it all.
